SCHILD ESTATE BAROSSA MERLOT 2018, 75 CL

2018 saw warm and dry condiƟons throughout most of growing season, but without any significant periods of severe heat. Yields were low and many red varieƟes rip-
ened evenly, with great flavour depth and some firm prominent tannins which have soŌened well during maturaƟon. As a result, many of the wines from the year show
great structure and framing when young and look to have the ability to genuinely age
well too.

Colour: Deep ruby.

Bouquet: Intense lifted aromas of dark plums dominate and are supported by fresh
hints of fresh cherries and dark chocolate.

Palate: The flavours of plums and dark berry fruit evident on the nose are clearly also evident on the palate, but here they are balanced by a subtle fine tannin frame-
work around the edges which provides a clear path of travel to the wine. A hint of spice appears to provide some added interest as the soft dark fruit rolls through to
the finish.
